I posted a long, somewhat shambolic essay in this space a month or so ago. It was mostly the leavings of a longer, abandoned project, and I thought it would helpful in various ways to post it. It was! I got some kind responses to it, which was especially nice because it was quite a long piece to read online. Anyway, I’ve looked at it again, and I’m starting to think I might refine, reduce, or otherwise change it with an eye toward more formal publication, though maybe in the distance future.
